I’m Nathan O’Grady, from North Canterbury, and I run North Canterbury Agrisolutions. I started fencing during the school holidays on Banks Peninsula, and did more and more of it through the rest of school and while I was at Lincoln. I’m keen for a challenge and I’ll give any job a go, and learn as much as I can along the way. When I’m not working I’m usually jet boating, fishing, four-wheel driving or skiing.

There’s usually a dog with me — a sheepdog I got off a farm not long back. She still works at home and on the family farm, and comes along to jobs when it suits her. Based in Ohoka, and quotes are free and done on site.

What I do.
Lifestyle blocks
Post and rail, netting and stock fencing, built around whatever you’re running — horses, a few sheep, or nothing yet.
Farms
Boundary and subdivision fencing, yards and races, and repairs after a rough winter. Strainers done properly so they stay put.
Around town
Boundary and privacy fences on residential sections — tidy on your neighbour’s side as well as yours.
Landscaping and the rest of the block
Retaining, clearing and levelling, paths, metal and shelter belts. Often it comes with a fence, but it doesn’t have to — plenty of it is a job on its own.

Why I come and look first.
Two fences the same length can be a long way apart on price, and it’s usually for reasons you can’t see from the road — the ground, the access, and whether there’s an old fence to pull out first. That’s why the quote is free and done on site: it’s the only way to give you a number that’s actually right.
